Aluminum circles for cookware

It's common knowledge that aluminum has supplanted other metals such as iron, steel etc. in a wide range of industries. This can primarily be attributed to a variety of reasons, chief amongst which would be high strength to weight ratio, inexpensive cost etc. As like many other sectors, the aforementioned fact is also true for the cooking ware sector. The biggest and most established brands in the cookware sector have been preferring aluminum to manufacture their products for many years now, with aluminum circles being the most preferred. It won't be an exaggeration to say that aluminum circles are perhaps the most essential and widely used material in the cooking ware sector.

What are aluminum circles ?

As the name suggests, the circles are made from aluminum, with the manufacturing process being; after aluminum is reduced to the required thickness through the cold rolling process ( done after the customary hot rolling process ), the aluminum coil is then made to go through a press. This passing through a specifically built press ensures that the circles are sheared off in the requisite diameter. The final process is the annealing process, that gives the circles certain mechanical properties, making them ideal for use in a whole host of sectors.

Features because of which aluminum circles are so popular in the cookware sector :-

  • The lightweight nature of aluminum allows the manufacturing of a very manageable product range
  • The aluminum circles are resistant to corrosion and abrasion
  • Moreover, they are also resistant to moisture, chips and winding
  • One important attribute of these circles which many people don't know about is that since aluminum distributes heat over it's entire surface area, this ensures proper cooking of food delicacies, with the taste and flavor being retained
  • A majority of aluminum circles can also be easily recycled.
  • These circles do not loose their luster for many years and are easy to maintain, two features that are of great benefit in the cookware sector

Attributes aluminum circles must have for them to be used in the cookware sector :-

  • The aluminum circles should be perfectly flat and separated, i.e – they should not be stuck with each other, making their separation for use difficult
  • These should be designed in such a way that makes them perfectly suited for automated supply systems used in production lines. This is necessary to avoid scenarios such as slowing down of the production line
  • The aluminum circles that are to be used in the cookware sector should have the requisite mechanical properties that ensure they can be put into specific shapes generally required for cookware products
  • It's known that cooking ware products after manufacturing go through a wide range of processes that gives them properties like anti stick etc., the aluminum circles should have sufficient tolerance to all such processes.
